🎯 Taking decisions

The success of a company is the sum of decisions it takes. Thus, be deliberate on decision-making and help one another to take better decisions. Here are a few guidelines that can help:

  1. Understand whether a decision is type 1 or type 2.
    1. Type 1 decisions are not reversible, and you have to be very careful making them.
    2. Type 2 decisions are like walking through a door — if you don’t like the decision, you can always go back.
    3. Ask knowledgeable people for help if you are uncertain whether something is T1 or T2.
  2. Most decisions are type 2, take them fast. A decision taken is better than no decision.
  3. Type 1 decision need more people, perspectives, and information — take your time.
  4. Be open to be wrong.
  5. Challenge and accept other decisions, but don’t be obnoxiously aggressive.
  6. Take time to reflect upon your decisions.
  7. Document type 1 decisions.
